When Frustration Attacks!

iFacepalm!Okay I admit it! I get frustrated real easy sometimes. Granted, other times I have the patience of a nerd on prom night. But I definitely do my share of grunting, groaning and venting. Don’t get me wrong, I have the ability to control any outward signs of these emotions most of the time. The times I don’t, my kids are usually involved. So I give thanks for my friends at Panda Cub Productions for their newest app iFacepalm. This simple and easy to use app is just what the doctor ordered in those times of anger when I really don’t want to use words to express my feelings. Because they would be mean and ugly (which is usually okay, except of course with the kids.) and at times are out of place.

Enter iFacepalm. This neat little app gives you three cute animal graphics to play with. You have a bunny, a fox and, of course, a panda. Each waits patiently on the screen of your iPhone for those times when nothing says “you’re an idiot” better than a palm to the face. Did your kids say something dumb like “Give me money”? Hit the facepalm button on the bottom of the screen and they will get the message. Spouse give you the chore list for the week? Facepalm to the face is much better than angry words or argument. Trust me I’ve tried them both. I would rather see her laugh at the cute facepalming panda than get upset hearing me complain.

Case in point. We were all out for the evening running errands and to get a bite to eat. When we got home it was late and time for Michael (10) to go to bed. He decided to resist a bit and told me he wasn’t going. Perfect facepalm situation. Even better, when we walked into the house I noticed my dog Joe (yeah we named him Joe) had gotten into the trash (again!). Usually this warrants an angry and loud response. But not tonight. After Michael’s facepalm the app was still open. So I hit the facepalm button and showed the screen to the dog. He sniffed it intently. Which made me laugh and eased up the situation a bit. It was funnier than this retelling seems to communicate. I was laughing along with the wife and kid. And it was a nice change in reaction that helped me not get quite so upset at Joe.

Ifacepalm is fun and seems to be the perfect fit for anyone who is surrounded by people, events and environment that bring on frustration and surprise. It is also a nice compliment to The Bullshit Detector. Of which you can read a review for right here. For a cheap buck you can let people know how you are feeling and not seem like a jerk in the process. Just right for this jerk I’d say!

**Update** After, oh I’d say 150-200 facepalms I unlocked a new critter in the app, Kitsune. Added bonus, she is foxy!!

We love The Panda!
